ADHD Assessment
Psychwest provide comprehensive ADHD assessment and diagnosis in both children and adults. We assess for emotional, cognitive and behavioural symptoms for ADHD and provide a comprehensive report with an individualised intervention plan.
These assessments can be used for a psychologist to make an ADHD diagnosis, to enable us to provide support for you or your child.
What to Expect
The ADHD assessment is a process conducted over 4 sessions with an experienced psychologist. The psychologist will ask you questions and administer questionnaires about your background, educational history and aptitudes and noted changes in your cognitive ability (ie memory, focus, concentration, distractibility) to determine if you may have ADHD or other related problem.
Adult ADHD Assessment Package (18+)
Included in the ADHD Assessment
4 x 1-hour clinical consultations plus a 30 minute feedback session.
Administration of ADHD self-report and other validated measures (for yourself and family members), and Mood and Psychological Profiling Tests
Scoring of above measures and comprehensive Assessment Report including recommendations for further assessment if necessary and/or treatment options
Please note: Psychologists do not prescribe medication. The above report can be provided to a psychiatrist for medical treatment. Please note you will need a GP referral to see a Psychiatrist.

$1350.00
This cost includes 4 in person sessions plus subsequent 2-3 hours of report writing.
There are no rebates available from Medicare for ADHD assessments. Private Health may provide rebates, in most cases assessments are not covered however we recommend asking your health fund.

Administration of a 2-hour cognitive test (WISC-IV) which provides a more complete assessment of attention and cognitive strengths and weaknesses that is helpful for diagnostic clarification and treatment plans
Scoring of above measures and comprehensive Assessment Report including recommendations for further assessment if necessary and strategies for parents, child and school

This cost includes 4 in person sessions, 2 hours of cognitive assessment plus report writing and includes 1 hour feedback session.
