The ADHD assessment is a process conducted over 4 sessions with an experienced psychologist. The psychologist will ask you questions and administer questionnaires about your background, educational history and aptitudes and noted changes in your cognitive ability (ie memory, focus, concentration, distractibility) to determine if you may have ADHD or other related problem.

Important information
*Psychologists do not prescribe medication. If appropriate, your report can be provided to a psychiatrist for further medical assessment or treatment.
As part of this process a Psychiatrist may conduct additional tests e.g. Thyroid function, iron levels, blood sugar levels. These are considered standard and are used to decide if medication is a safe option.
A GP referral is required to see a Psychiatrist.

Child ADHD Assessment Package
Concerned your child may have ADHD?
We provide both comprehensive and basic ADHD assessments for children, helping you understand what’s going on and what to do next.
Our assessments are thorough supportive, and designed to give you clear answers and practical recommendations for home and school.
This assessment may be helpful if:

What to Expect
The ADHD assessment is a process conducted over 4 sessions with an experienced psychologist. The psychologist will ask you and your child questions, and administer questionnaires about the child’s background, educational history and aptitudes and noted changes in their cognitive ability (i.e. memory, focus, concentration, distractibility) to determine if they may have ADHD or other related problem.
There are two assessment options for ADHD assessment for children.

Administration of ADHD self-report and other validated measures (for yourself and family members), and Mood and Psychological Profiling Tests
Scoring of above measures and comprehensive Assessment Report including recommendations for further assessment if necessary and/or treatment options

This cost includes 4 in person sessions plus subsequent 2-3 hours of report writing.
There are no rebates from Medicare for ADHD assessments. Whilst most private health providers do not provide rebates for assessment we recommend contacting your health to confirm.
